Director of Global Distribution

Job Description:
The Director of Global Distribution Services (“DGDS”) develops, implements, measures, and continually improves the distribution strategy and operations team which manages receiving, storage, shipping and transportation modes to contain costs, exceed customer on-time delivery and product packaging quality expectations, ensure inventory accuracy, and support all sales objectives. The DGDS oversees the day to day operations of Company’s global distribution network, is responsible for directly managing company-owned distribution locations and monitoring third party distribution service providers (3PLs) to ensure the quality and timely delivery of products. Direct reports include technical and floor operating managers and an inventory control specialist. Position reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).


  • Plan operations with the team to control inbound processing, put away, picking and packing, shipping (oversight of small package, direct interaction with truck freight, air, and ocean carriers working with Supply Chain), inventory accuracy, packaging labor and usage costs and quality, returns processing, housekeeping / 5S and all other related activities.
  • Ensure all customer compliance requirements are known, documented, shared, and all team members are trained on their fulfillment.
  • Maximize efficient use of distribution center space.
  • Review and approve employee status forms and manage all staffing issues.
  • Communicate with other operating functions and divisions.
  • Understand in detail the company ERP and WMS system operation to be able to process all transactions.


  • Manage 3PL plans to meet priorities set by Customer Service, and provide 3PL performance improvement plans and reporting: on-time and past-due stock and cross-dock order processing, priority picks, reporting on customer compliance impacts (i.e., shipping portals), and on-time results.
  • Update payroll reports with information from Human Resources.
  • Attend shipping planning meeting to plan for and report upon action plans to meet customer and sales demands. Prepare reports for the meeting indicating order status.

Global Trade Compliance Specialist

Lead and direct the implementation of trade compliance programs, policies, procedures and audits to ensure product and process compliance with U.S. and international import, export and product representation regulations. Including but not limited to global product labeling, testing, environmental, banned or restricted substance standards for countries in which we do business.
Also assist in logistics with focus on U.S. and international customs duty, value added and other international tax regulations.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Obtain compliance requirements from government websites, publications to provide interpretation and directives for incorporation into products and processes.
  • Stay abreast of multiple, complex sets of regulations to determine relevancy and to proactively mitigate product and organizational risk.
  • Audit products, labeling, import/export documentation and implement corrective action required in collaboration with Design, Product, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales teams.
  • Ensure accuracy of product tariff codes, U.S. and international duty rates and applicability and calculation of value added and other taxes.
  • Implement and administer verifiable, sustainable duty drawback program.
  • Develop and thoroughly document compliance requirements, provide internal/external training and establish audit process to meet all applicable regulations.
  • Corporate point person for all requests, questions, customer inquiries relating to international compliance.


  • Prior international compliance, logistic, sourcing experience preferably in soft lines industry.

Product Manager

Facilitates the execution and documentation of new designs between design teams and factories. Becomes “the product expert” for a given range of styles .

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Work with design team twice a year to develop “doable” new design concept ideas taking into consideration factory capabilities and proposed product material limitations.
  • Prepare initial product documentation using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software to initiate sample production with appropriate factories.
  • Assist in communications between design team and factories to ensure sample production stays on track to defined timeline and delivery.
  • Document all product changes in PLM as they occur. Compile information needed to maintain complete bill of material, instructional and cost details through the course of development.
  • Coordinate with design to obtain proper approvals at each stage of sampling and maintain custody of latest approved physical sample for future reference.
  • Attend all product review meetings EG: prototype reviews, line closing, sales conferences to facilitate continuity of communication and of documentation.
  • Ahead of final line closing meeting provide cost details and bulk order limitations EG: minimum order qty to Supply Chain and Merchandising teams for consideration in final product selection for upcoming line.
  • Finalize all documentation after line closing, promote styles to our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to ensure each style can and will be made correctly.
  • Responsible for coordinating the placement of Sales sample orders and for the tracking of same orders through to timely completion.


  • Prior Product Management, Design, Purchasing experience preferably in an apparel or fashion related industry.

Material Handler


  • Loads, unloads, and moves materials as needed throughout Corporate office, factory, distribution complex. Direction is provided via written, verbal requests or by an established schedule.
  • Able to operate and is competent in safe use practices of common material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, lifting slings, hooks.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy of cartons and other select materials not stored within secured “stockroom” areas.
  • Distribution of cartons, insert materials to production and distribution facilities. Record daily issues and receipts, maintain clean and safe storage area.
  • Maintain log of inbound small package and truck deliveries. Deliver and record end destination and or recipients of same materials.
  • Minimum twice daily pickup and distribution of mail to destination points.
  • Minimum twice daily run to transfer hat bodies to and from production and warehouse facilities.
  • Provide backup support for all Stockroom functions.


  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Current valid OSHA forklift operation certificate or able to obtain within first 10 working days.

Storeroom Clerk

DUTIES to include but not limited to:

  • Kitting – Consolidation of components from multiple locations into single “kits” for individual production orders.
  • Daily Cycle Counting – Systematic daily physical counting of a selection of components to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Daily inventory adjustments – Data entry to record the issuance of components, cartons and results of cycle counts.
  • Data entry of daily receipts against individual Purchase Orders.

ASSIST Stockroom Lead person:

  • In facilitating the weekly return to inventory of excess components from production.
  • In the picking of components from inventory to support daily production schedules.
  • In the receiving of components from vendors to check quality and count.


  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Comfortable working with computers, basic spreadsheet skills a plus.
  • Strong team work ethic.
  • Must be comfortable using step ladders and able to lift 25 lbs.

Procurement Specialist

Fulltime position executing seasonal buy plans as developed by demand planning. Work with import factories to ensure that PO’s stay on schedule. Work with factories to resolve day to day issues as they come up. Negotiate FOB prices with vendor. Take initiative to constantly review and streamline process to cut down lead time and ensure right products come in at the right time and right way. Assist in managing freight and freight consolidation. Assist in auditing freight charge and provide HTS information to broker for custom clearance.


  • 1-3 years experience in supply chain related filed IE: global purchasing, international logistics or planning.
  • Experience in fashion related business preferred but not required.
  • Familiar with Incoterms and US Harmonized Tariff Codes.
  • Familiar with International trade, import custom rules and regulations
  • Good negotiation skill.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn. Ability to solve problem independently.
  • Prior experience with any ERP system a plus
  • Strong basic and algebraic math skill a must.
  • Intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel spread sheet skills and basic competency in Microsoft Word.
