Founded on Main Street in Adamstown, PA in a former whiskey distillery by George Bollman in 1868 .

Our historic factory is America’s oldest hat factory. Wooden floors, catwalks joining buildings, an underground tunnel and a barn built in 1809 distinguish our amazing property. Even more amazing are our historic machines and skilled and dedicated employee-owners who make the world’s best woolfelt, straw, furfelt and knit hats.
